Detroit Shock on the Road to Repeat in 2009
The defending Champions will be opening their season with an away game in Los Angeles but turn right around and host the Sparks with the home opener on June 8.
L.A. is great and all but aren’t we really looking forward to the rematch of the 2008 Finals against the San Antonio Silver Stars where our Detroit Shock won the WNBA Championship in just 3 games? I think we are. The Silver Stars will be in town on August 23. You can expect some great basketball when these 2 teams square off. So put that date on your calendar because you won’t want to miss it.
ESPN2 plans to air 2 Detroit Shock games this season. First, against New York Liberty on August 24. Then against San Antonio on August 29. Also plan on catching the season opener that will be televised on ABC on Saturday June 6 against Los Angeles Sparks.
